Media has a central role in projecting Kashmir cause: Masood
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has the stressed that the power of the pen, computer, and the camera should be used to highlight the voice of Kashmiri people across the globe and to eliminate social evils in the society.
In a felicitation message to the newly elected cabinet of the Central Press Club, Muzaffarabad on Sunday, he said that exposing what is happening in Indian Occupied Kashmir and India itself was the basic responsibility of the local, regional, national, and international media.
He said that our journalist fraternity has always kept the Kashmir liberation movement on top of their priorities, which was a matter of satisfaction.
The State President said that the Central Press Club Muzaffarabad, for over four decades, had been playing an important role in the promotion of objective journalism in the liberated territory, highlighting of important national issues and the strengthening of the Kashmir liberation movement.
He expressed the hope that the newly-elected office-bearers of the press club will continue to strive towards the resolution of the issues faced by the journalist community, uphold the past traditions and will play an active role in projecting the Kashmir issue in its real perspective by highlighting Indian brutalities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and exposing before the world the flagrant human rights violations taking place at the hands of Indian troops.
The State President stressed upon the journalists of Azad Kashmir the need of not only maintaining the media momentum created around the world on the Kashmir issue but also to actively further expand on this communication bonanza provided to us.
"There is a dire need to create awareness in not only Pakistan but across the globe that the target of India's hatred was not just the people of Jammu and Kashmir but all Muslims the whole of South Asia.
The AJK President greeted the newly-elected President of Central Press Club Sajjad Ahmad Mir, Senior Vice President Basharat Mughal, Vice President Naseer Awan, Secretary-General Zulfikar Butt, Additional Secretary General Saqib Ali Haidri, Finance Secretary Anwar Khawaja, Secretary Information Azkar Naqvi, and Joint secretary Raja Ijaz, and expressed good wishes for them.
